New Council and Leadership get straight to work

Portsmouth's Liberal Democrat councillors stood in front of Portsmouth Guildhall

The new, larger Lib Dem council group lead by Steve Pitt and Suzy Horton have got straight to work following a successful set of elections.
Cllr Steve Pitt was unanimously elected leader of Portsmouth City Council with all parties and independents support.

Cllr Suzy Horton continues her role as deuty leader and cabinet member for Children, Families and Education.

Steve and Suzy possess a depth of expertise and an extensive track record for delivering results on behalf of residents to keep Portsmouth moving forward.

Our two newly elected Councillors have got straight to work.

Cllr Peter Candlish (Eastney & Cranewater) is already working on:

  • Parking issues
  • Green energy projects
  • Long-term ward development ideas.

Cllr Leonie Oliver (Baffins):

  • Arranged 'drop-in' sessions so local residents can easily access their councillors
  • Meeting the Sergeant to discuss ASB
  • Cleaning up fly-tipping
