Much-loved city icons to get investment

The city’s skyline and iconic venues are going to get a boost after investment was agreed. The King's Theatre, Spinnaker Tower, Guildhall War Memorial, Cumberland House Natural History Museum, Southsea Rose Gardens, D-Day Story Museum, and the Sails of the South are all set to get vital investment. 

Lib Dem councillors set aside money in this year’s council budget, as Portsmouth celebrates it’s 100 year of officially becoming a city.

However, Portsmouth’s Reform councillors have been criticised for failing to back the £3.5 million boost for the city’s icons.

The much-loved Kings Theatre will get a ‘re-imagined visitor experience’ including a new bar, box office and lift to the first floor. The proposals for Cumberland
House Natural History Museum will see upgraded displays and a new cafe.
