Elected May 2021.
Both sides of my family have lived and worked in Portsmouth for generations. When my father left the armed forces, we returned to the city as a family when I was a young child. I grew up here in Portsmouth, went to school here and started my working career in the local defence Industry.
I live in the centre of the Ward, in Pembroke Park, with my wife and two children, who both attend local state schools. Whether it's kayaking along the seafront, swimming at Hotwalls beach, shopping and eating out in the local area, I can’t think of a better place to live.
In fact, three generations of my family all live in St Thomas Ward. This gives me, I believe, a deeper perspective on the issues which affect us all, young and old as residents. Access to good/outstanding local schools, safer roads, parking availability, noise control, local housing concerns, recycling and the environment are all matters close to my heart. I am a member of Friends of Old Portsmouth and my family are active members of Portsmouth Cathedral (parish church) and support many events there.
