Statement in Response to London Attack

Gerald Vernon-Jackson, Lib Dem Candidate for Portsmouth South:

"Yesterday's attack in London was cowardly and barbaric. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the attack and with their families. It is important that as a nation we stay united in our rejection of these evil acts, but also our rejection of the way in which these terrorists want to change our country. We have to keep doing what we always do, otherwise the terrorists win.

Portsmouth Lib Dems have decided to suspend all canvassing today as a mark of respect for the victims of last night's attacks. We will deliver leaflets today as a way of showing that British life must go on and we cannot allow these evil people to take away those things that are normal in British life."
