Portsmouth pensioners to receive £100 support from Lib Dem-led Council

17 Aug 2022

Following the Liberal Democrat-led City Council's Household Support Fund, around 6000 Portsmouth households in receipt of pension credit or council tax support will receive £100 to help with Energy Costs.

The follows a £150 council tax energy rebate payment earlier this year. Portsmouth Liberal Democrats are committed to helping our most vulnerable with the rising cost of living.

Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader of Portsmouth City Council Suzy Horton said: "We know the cost of living crisis is impacting so many people in Portsmouth. For lots of people, making ends meet is becoming more and more difficult. This is immediate help that we can give people right now, but we know this will only go so far. The Government must intervene and get a grip on the spiralling costs many people are facing."
