Lib Dem Councillor Will Purvis recently questioned the Minister for Portsmouth, Mark Francois MP (pictured above), on what additional support the Government might be able to provide for the neighbourhood planning process in urban areas such as Portsmouth.
The Milton Neighbourhood Planning Forum is the first of its kind in the city and is dedicated to forming a Neighbourhood Plan for Milton that promotes and secures a sustainable community. The process is a long one which involves hundreds of local residents.
Will commented: "The process [of neighbourhood planning] is more complex in urban areas such as Portsmouth in comparison to more rural areas so I asked if there might be any additional support for the plan in Milton. The Minister said he would take it away and look at it."
