The city’s Lib Dem Cabinet is proposing to invest £1.5 million in the Pyramids to assist with refurbishing the facilities at the popular venue.
This money will be spent on improving the public areas - the reception area will be updated and the changing, gym and family areas will updated to improve the customer experience. The swimming pool area will also be refurbed with new flumes.
Cllr Steve Pitt, Lib Dem Cabinet Member for Culture Leisure and Sport at Portsmouth City Council said: "The plans for improving the facilities are really exciting and will create a modern family leisure facility on the seafront."
The funding is being recommended as part of Portsmouth City Council's capital budget. This invests in a range of infrastructure schemes throughout the city like buildings and facilities, rather than the day-to-day running of council services that have to be paid through a separate revenue budget.
