Chris is the Liberal Democrat candidate for St Thomas Ward in the 2019 local elections.
Chris lives locally in Southsea. His family are from Portsmouth and his father served in the Royal Navy here.
He has a lifelong commitment to public service with operational and leadership roles across the Home Office and Ministry of Justice.
After 25 years in the Civil Service, Chris is now devoting his time to be a full-time community campaigner for our area. He rolls his sleeves-up and volunteers with local groups; Chris is also a business mentor and Panel Member for The Prince’s Trust, helping others to realise their true potential.
Locally Chris is best known for successfully running a ‘door to door’ petition and campaign to bring back a direct bus service between Old Portsmouth and Southsea.
Chris is working closely with popular Liberal Democrat Councillors for St Thomas Ward, Rob Wood and Tom Wood.
The three of them conducted the largest door to door survey in the area during the Autumn, asking people for their views on local issues. They keep in touch all year round with community newsletters, and don’t just appear at election time. Rob got re-elected in St Thomas Ward last May, just 140 votes ahead of the Conservatives. The Liberal Democrats are looking to gain the third seat from the Conservatives on 2 May.
“I promise to continue to work hard for local people. The Lib Dem team have a reputation for getting things done and I will be a strong voice for our area. I have the time, energy and experience to be an effective city councillor for local
